I've been reflecting on the 20
hours of elder care mediation training last week. You gave us
an incredible amount of
valuable information, and I thank you. I found day three to be
most meaningful. As I watched the Fishbowl and participated in
the mediation exercise I thought how often I'd been in the same
circumstances and felt right at home.
I can do this Barbara! I'm really excited about being an Elder

the Manousso Mediation basic and advance trainings:
Dear Dr. Barbara,
Barbara Manousso trained me as a mediator.
Her class was easy to follow, practical, and
provided real-world information that has
helped me tremendously in my mediation
As an example, Barbara advocates breaking
away from "shuttle diplomacy," which is
commonly used in mediating court cases.
"Shuttle diplomacy" consists of the parties
in two different rooms, and the mediator
simply moves back and forth. Barbara helped
me feel comfortable trying a more modern
approach to mediation: one where both
parties stay in the same room for as long as
possible to brainstorm possible solutions to
their own problems.
Barbara also started and ended her class
promptly, and she delivers what she

most sincere gratitude to you
for your mediation
seminar, an enriching and
thought provoking, capturing learning
experience. Not one moment of the seminar
all speakers and contributors were excellent in
their subject, making it
accessible and attractive to the class.
Dr. Manouso, you
are a top master of the art of
mediation and a generous, attentive teacher, who
loves her subject and enjoys sharing it.
You guided us
from the very beginning of understanding what
mediation is to
challenges you encountered
to how to have an
active practice. You
gave us important tools in order
to become a professional mediator.
As a career diplomat and a
supporter of principled negotiation, I am
especially grateful to the class.
Your instruction gave me
the contemporary practice of an ancient method
of negotiating peace. I strongly recommend this
seminar to anyone interested in conflict
resolution, as a great
opportunity for professional and personal
enrichment and an important skill for adaptation
to a rapidly changing world.
Thank you, Dr. Manousso,

Barbara, your advanced
divorce mediation class was wonderful.
It was jam packed with information,
resources and practical tips for the
unconfident newbies in mediation. For
those with experience in mediation, it
is a great refresher. Your
personal charm, knowledge, and extensive
experience round out the vast breadth of
the course. Thank you so much for
putting this class together and making
the learning experience extraordinary.
Even with no experience to speak of,
I feel confident that I can mediate and
only get better and more confident as I
progress in this new profession.

I wanted to thank you again for the informative, entertaining
and worthwhile mediation program. I learned a great deal and
met some truly wonderful people in the process. All the
speakers that came to engage in dialogue with us were superb.
It was fascinating to learn about each one of their passions.
Now that I have found my passion, as you already know, Iím
raring to get this train out of the station. I want to gain as
much hands on experience as possible. I canít wait to sit-in or
co-mediate my first real case. I plan on contacting the DRC and
BBB to get on their mediators lists. If you or anyone you know
has opportunities for an inexperienced mediator, me, to co
mediate, Iíd love to hear about them.
Thanks again for all the guidance, support, information and
humor over the past four days. It was delightful.
Thanks so much! I
sincerely enjoyed the class. You're an amazing professional in
this area and the class was AWESOME! Definitely something I
hope to utilize in the future. I'm also sharing this workshop
within my office for strong consideration and participation.
Good morning Barbara,
I hope this e-mail finds you well. I truly enjoyed your class
and will recommend it highly and with lots of enthusiasm to
those people looking to attend a mediation course. Thank you so
much for ensuring that we get both CLE and CPE credits for
attending your seminar.
